· Genesis Conquers the Moon
On April 11, a private Israeli start-up became the first non-governmental organization to land a vessel on the moon. This remarkable feat is the cutting edge of modern technology, and yet it’s deeply suffused with the ancient history of the Hebrew Bible. The lander is called Beresheet, which is the Hebrew name for the biblical book of “Genesis” and the first word of the Bible. It is carrying a time capsule containing key representations sym...bolic of Israel’s identity, including a complete digital copy of the Hebrew Bible. This will be the first time that the Hebrew words of Scripture have made it into outer space!
This extraordinary event signals a Genesis; the beginning of a new era for Israel on the international stage. How fitting that at this breathtaking moment, Israel has chosen to celebrate its biblical roots and we all hope they will be successful!
