I use to be a Budget Car Rental customer for sometime until my recent experience at the Denver Airport Budget Center.... the service was excellent and the vehicles were above standard. Thrifty and Dollar just gained a new long term customer.

Came in from out of state and was not informed or given an option to rent a transponder to pay for toll roads. Just received a bill for $113 for a 4-day rental (only drove 2 days out of 4 - from the airport to my destination and back to the airport). I was charged $23.15 in tolls because the transponder was not working in the car I had. So there was excessive charges on tolls. Mind you, this was for about all of 1 total hour of driving from a suburb, through a deserted plain to the airport at 6am in the morning and then again at 8pm in the evening. Not even through a major metropolitan area or a rush hour commute! After hours on the phone with Thrifty and Hertz who owns Thrifty and American Traffic Solutions (the collection agency that Thrifty sends these claims over to) I ended up paying $49.96 out of the $113 fee for their "all inclusive toll package of $12.49 a day." Hertz, the parent company, only charges their customers $4.95 a day plus tolls! Then they gave me some song and dance that they already charged my card the $113.15 but if I check back in April I should only end up being charged the difference so it is $49.96. Riiiiiight, stretch it out so it's harder to track. That's a creative way to make a profit! WTH! Never again #Thriftycarrental or #Hertzcarrental. What crooks!
