In a meeting today it was discussed that there are several "Groups" that appear to advocate the El Dorado Trail. While there is strong "avocation" there are also groups that are trying to take away parts of these trail.
For about 3 decades a couple people have tried to prevent the corridor from having its "rail, trail & class I bike path". Folks, they have failed. They El Dorado Western Railroad has the #1 resource for keeping our trail intact. Certain homeowners and developm...ent groups are trying to have remove the tracks so they can close the EDT.
The strongest efforts continue to focus on earthen trail from Missouri Flat through Shingle Springs to Latrobe and the County line. A Class I bike path and improved earthen trail will connect from Missouri Flat to Oriental Rd starting this summer. Rail excursions will connect and operate from Missouri Flat to the County line!
Mark you calendar for several events this year but pay special attention to the 2019 Latrobe Rail Festival, October time period.

Rail riders coming soon! Focus will be to run from Shingle Springs to Latrobe! We've seen the trail/rail repair at ML Drive and now it's time to move to repair the section at Shingle Lime Mine Road! This is my Christmas present to you and be the gift that keeps giving throughout 2019! When completed we'll be able to ride mountain bikes on the trail versus road, ride excursions to Marble Valley, "Great View" and more! Let's keep the EDT maintained throughout the corridor per our general plan! (watch out for those HOAs trying to break up the trail---EDTDG, aka Milton Ranch, we're watching you!)
