MILLOM v WOOLSTON ROVERS WOOLSTON ROVERS ‘A’ v THATTO HEATH CRUSADERS ‘B’
... Woolston Rovers look to keep the pressure on the top two teams when travel to Barrow to face Millom on Saturday in the Kingstone Press National Conference League Division Three. The coach leaves Monks Sports Club at 10.30am for any supporters wishing to travel. Please contact Nikki Whalley on 07889 170895 to secure your place.
Rovers have improved immeasurably over the past two games to record back-to-back wins and will need to ensure they continue in the same manner on Saturday. Head Coach Mal Holt said, ”We have certainly picked up our intensity over the past couple of games and that has enabled us to get two good wins to move us up the table. Millom lost out in the Play Off Final last season and even though they haven’t had the best of starts to this campaign they are always a tough nut to crack, especially on their own ground. We will go with confidence and hopefully we can make the trip home a pleasant one with two more league points in the bank.”
Woolston ‘A’ return to action with a home game against Thatto Heath Crusaders ‘B’ in the NWML Division Three. Kick off is 2.30pm at The Sadore Construction Field, Monks Sports Club hoping to get back to winning ways against an unbeaten Crusaders side.
Coach Will Chadwick, who has stepped up following Andy Penny’s resignation and will have Matt Lowe alongside him, said, “We will be looking to replicate the way that we played in our opening two games and build some confidence within the side. We will be facing a very good side in Thatto but we will be going out there to stamp our authority on the game early on and then look to build some momentum in our play. We have a lot of quality in our side and I am confident that we can put in a performance that will give us a chance of claiming the win.”

Tomorrow (Saturday) is the Annual Ronald McDonald House (Alder Hey) Charity Day. The action starts at 11.30am with Woolston Under 9s Greens v Crosfields Under 9s and that is then followed at 12.30pm by Woolston Past v Present for The Noah Horrigan Trophy. The NCL game between Woolston and Gateshead Storm kick off at 3.00pm.
