The Colquhonnie hotel is located in a very picturesque part of the Cairngorms. We went for a quick meal out of season so it was very quiet as expected. The food was good and served quickly. Some music playing for visitors would have helped as there was no atmosphere in the bar really. Fair play to them for being open for food on cold quiet nights!

Not really fit for purpose as a hotel. Stayed here 2 nights. Rooms very dated but bed was clean and comfortable, shower intermitant, cups in room were filthy, sink/carpet dirty/stained. Staff a bit prickly but warmed up. Dinner was surprisingly good and breakfast not so much. I left my room key on the reception desk as I left for work and I came back 12 hrs later and it was in exactly the same place - which was a little concerning. The hotel is clearly running at a loss and needs some money spent on it. It's in a beautiful location but as it stands is not worth anywhere near what they are charging.
